RULE: DO NOT POP ANY RED CAPSULES UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO DO SO.
This guide is structured around Story difficulty.
PHASE 1: UFO
• Play up to the Rice Fields; get Sacred Sword from Jizo statue in front of old Shrine path.
• Move wood by the shack in middle of field for Poster 1 and the PP-8001.
• Finish the Dark Shrine; SAVE on street after the grotesque creature cutscene.
Ending 5 (UFO):
• Dirt road past capsized truck -> down stairs past bridge with enemy in way; on the wall in front of Hinako. (Poster 2).
• Back to former alley we originally ran through before seeing the creature (Poster 3 above bike).
• Walk toward the monster; grab Movie Review in front of Chizuruya General Store.
• Trigger: SPACE INVASION!
💾 PHASE 2: MASTER SAVE
• Reload the street save. Play up to the Mountain Chase sequence.
• At the Hokora (Divine Tree stairs), make a *** MANUAL MASTER SAVE ***
Ending 1 (Default):
• Medicine shack behind Shu’s house -> Grab a Red Capsule on right inside & USE IT before touching desk.
• Interact with desk for the key; play through the rest and finish game.
• Trigger: COMING HOME TO ROOST
Phase 3: The GOOD and the BAD
• Reload MASTER SAVE. Go to Shu’s medicine shack.
• Use desk immediately (ignore pills) to despawn them permanently and grab key.
• Get Hotei-sama vial from the Dark Shrine upstairs in the bloody pond secret area.
• Defeat Rinko; make a NEW MASTER SAVE.
Ending 3 (Good):
• Complete the game again WITHOUT purifying the sword at the shrine.
• Trigger: WET THE FOX’S TAIL
Ending 2 (Bad):
• Reload MASTER SAVE -> PURIFY SWORD at shrine; finish game.
• Trigger: FOX’S WEDDING
PHASE 4: TRUE ENDING
• Reload MASTER SAVE. PURIFY SWORD at shrine.
• Past the pustule monster, look right in the foliage for a path leading to a Jizo statue.
• Surrender Brooch (starting item in NG+) to statue; finish the game.
